Dot is a 78-year-old mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She lives in Hervey Bay, Queensland, Australia, with her husband. In recent years, Dot completed a Science Degree, majoring in psychology. Her interest in the story of the Batavia started with her last book, The History Teacher.
